Historic Concord Downtown Merchants Association

June Newsletter

Finally, school is out and we can sit back and relax... Yeah right!  Relax?  What is that?!?  Now there is cheerleading camp, swim team meets, visits from the in-laws, and probably a wedding or two, just for good measure!

Even with your crazy-busy schedules, don't forget about your favorite downtown merchants!  Pick up that last-minute gift at Gifts and Garden by Angela or snag that perfect, one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry from the Bead Lady to go with the snazzy little dress you're wearing to the baby shower that starts in two hours!  How about a couple's massage at the Wellness Center at Blue Ridge for that hard-to-buy-for couple?  And, for that health-conscious friend, there's a wellness evaluation with
Dr. Emi.

Swing by J. Talbert's for that Father's day gift you keep forgetting to pick up or just take a moment and enjoy a play at The Old Courthouse Theatre.  Take a tour through the Galleries at the Arts Council or listen to a free concert on the lawn in front of the Historic Courthouse each Thursday evening.

Don't forget, we have the perfect venues for all of your upcoming event and conference needs!  Both The Loft at 14th and the Piedmont Renaissance Center are conveniently located in Downtown Concord.  Light Images Photography can help you capture those precious moments at your daughter's wedding or your seven-year-old son's portrait with his two missing front teeth!
(Grandma can't wait to see how much he's grown!)

We've got it all in Downtown Concord!

Snow White

SNOW WHITE & Friends
OCT's Summer Youth Show

Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to have fun we go, with this modern version of the beloved fairy tale! When the Huntsman fails to bump off the beautiful Princess Snow White (although he still gets his ticket to Bermuda ), the vain queen decides to do the job herself. Dressed as an Old Hag, she cons Snow White into buying a candy bar as a girl scout fund-raiser. Like, who can resist chocolate, especially if it's for a good cause? But at the first bite, the princess falls into a deep slumber. Luckily Snow White has lots of friends. The seven dwarfs immediately call 911, but they, the forest creatures and even the queen's six rowdy gargoyles at the palace are upset when they learn the only antidote is a kiss. It just so happens the Prince from Aboonistan, at the palace on a peace treaty mission, is a specialist in kissing, and after a quick spray of breath freshener, is able to awaken the beautiful princess. Lots of fun, easily learned roles, this hour-long comedy is pure enchantment
