IMPROV Workshop on Saturday, November 19 from 9-11:30am
Have you always dreamed of starring in a show like "Whose Line is it Anyway?" or "Saturday Night Live"? If you think you have what it takes to think on your feet, join Old Courthouse Youth Theatre, Saturday, November 19, for an exciting workshop in improvisational theatre. From 9-11:30am, you'll have the chance to improve your acting skills and play some hilarious improv games with other up and coming actors.
This workshop is for ages 11-18 yrs. Space for 25. Cost is $20 per student. To register, email student's name and age, as well as parent's name to youth@oldcourthousetheatre.org
THEATRE GAMES Workshop on Saturday, December 17 from 9-12:30pm
On Saturday, December 17, students have the opportunity to explore the world of acting through a workshop taught by Old Courthouse Youth Theatre. From 9-12:30pm, actors in 3rd-7th grade will learn basic acting skills through high-energy theatre games. This workshop is designed for the beginning and advanced actor and will cover everything from stage directions to improvisational acting to mime! The instructor for the workshop is Debra Mein.
Space for 25 students. Cost is $20 per child. Students should pack a light lunch. Drinks and snacks provided. To register, email your child's name and age, as well as your name to youth@oldcourthousetheatre.org

takes to give a great audition? If you are attending the auditions
for Old Courthouse Theatre’s “Broadway Babies” musical revue or
just want to improve your overall audition technique, plan to attend
the Audition Workshop on
January 7 from 9-11:30 a.m.Debra Mein will be teaching a free workshop where you can polish your
audition song or monologue or learn basic technique that can help you
succeed at future auditions.

Debra
Mein is a recent transplant
to the area and is excited to be working with Old Courthouse Theatre.
She is currently employed by the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte as
both an actor and teaching artist. Deb was proud to be in CTC’s
recent tour of “Liars” with the Drama for Healthy Living Program
and will play the role of Mrs. Driver in the upcoming play, “The
Borrowers”. Prior to taking up residence in Concord, Deb toured
regionally in Massachusetts and New Hampshire with Historical
Perspectives for Children, Inc., performing one-woman shows as Helen
Keller and Laura Ingalls Wilder for elementary and middle school aged
students. While based in NYC, Deb worked with Literally Alive
Children’s Theatre and toured with National Theatre of the
Performing Arts and Missoula Children’s Theatre. Passionate about
providing quality theatre opportunities for youth, Deb has created
and taught for after school theatre programs from Kansas to
Massachusetts. She has an MA in Theatre from Kansas State University,
a BA in Theatre from University of Saint Mary, KS.
