Charlie and the Chocolate Factory:  April 28, 29 at 7:00 pm.

Presented by: Village Fudge & Candy Shoppe

For the first time in a decade, Willy Wonka, the reclusive and eccentric chocolate maker, is opening his doors to the public--well, five members of the public to be exact. The lucky five who find a Golden Ticket in their Wonka chocolate bars will receive a private tour of the factory, given by Mr. Wonka himself. For young Charlie Bucket, this a dream come true. And, when he finds a dollar bill in the street, he can't help but buy two Wonka's Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delights--even though his impoverished family could certainly use the extra dollar for food. But as Charlie unwraps the second chocolate bar, he sees the glimmer of gold just under the wrapper! The very next day, Charlie, along with his unworthy fellow winners Mike Teavee, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, and Augustus Gloop, steps through the factory gates to discover whether or not the rumors surrounding the Chocolate Factory and its mysterious owner are true. What they find is that the gossip can't compare to the extraordinary truth, and for Charlie, life will never be the same again.

Who wouldn't want to join Charlie Bucket in his adventurous tour of Willy Wonka's world-famous Chocolate Factory? Now is your chance!  Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, Grandpa George, Grandma Georgina, Willy Wonka and Charlie himself come to life, and all involved will discover the true meaning of teamwork, self-confidence and self-esteem. Each cast member will have a role that promotes a special understanding of other people as they experience a chocolate-candy fantasy.  The delicious fun of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory awaits you!

It is our goal to cast as many roles as possible as the actual age portrayed in the play and film.  We are looking for older adults to play the grandparents, 20-40 for the parents, and older children or young teens to play the main child roles.  Final cast ages will be determined by the age and number of people auditioning.

Auditions will be cold reading from script.

Performance dates will be June 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 8:00 pm, and June 22 and 29 at 2:30 pm.
